A Message From the Superintendent
Our school district, Raul Yzaguirre School for Success (RYSS) takes great concern for the safety and well-being of all students, families and employees. We are taking extra precautions to help prevent the spread of the flu virus this school year. We would like to ask that everyone cooperate in practicing good hygiene while also taking extra time and care in keeping our school clean at all times.
Tips for helping prevent the spread of the flu virus:
* Practive good hand hygiene. Wash your hands often with soap and water especially after coughing or sneezing. Hand cleaners/sanitizers that are alcohol based are also excellent.
* cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. If you don't have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow or shoulder; do not cough into your hands.
* Remain home until fever free for 24 hours without use of fever-reducing medications, such as Tylenol.
* Always check with your doctor should your child become sick and conditions become more serious.
Important points if your child is ll at school:
* Be sure that your child's contact information is correct and up-to-date.
* Children with symptoms such as fever will be removed from class until picked up. Parents or guardians are expected to pick up children when contacted by the school.
* No child can return to school with a fever or flu-like symptoms.
If you need additional information regarding Swine Flu prevention tips, please call Ms. Virginia Salazar, School Nurse at 713-640-3704.
Again, we care about the well-being of our students, families and all of our employees.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
