FUNCTION:
Reporting to the President and CEO of the Tejano Center for Community
Concerns, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for all financial and
related operational matters of
the Tejano Center for Community Concerns and the Raul Yzaguirre School
for Success. The CFO will report to and work closely with the President and
Chief Executive Officer, representing the CEO as necessary, and will partner
with the senior leadership team and the board of directors to develop and
implement sound business practices across the organization and to ensure the
organization is forward thinking in devising strategies for creating sustainable
revenue growth and diversified revenue streams.
The CFO will gather and evaluate financial information and make
actionable recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors; oversee
financial analysis, practices and reports, cost controls, budgeting; analyzes
and interpret financial data; recommends
changes and implementation strategies to improve the financial and
organizational performance of a multi-unit non-profit organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance & Strategic Planning
Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
Oversee cash, investment, and asset management.
Oversee financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships.
Develop and utilize forward-looking strategic planning models and analyses to provide insight into the organization’s multi-department operations and business plans.

QUALIFICATIONS
The CFO will be a seasoned and mature leader with broad management, finance, and
program development experience. The
CFO will have experience in a senior management role, partnering with its
leadership team, resulting in the development and implementation of
organizational management strategies. Demonstrated leadership ability, team
management, and interpersonal skills. Masters degree preferred (Finance, Public
Policy or Related Field); 7-years relevant senior management and supervisory
experience including program development. Experience
in a non-profit organization preferred.
LANGUAGE
SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and
non-supervisory staff, using tact and discretion, and responding to questions,
comments in a calm professional manner. Bi-lingual Spanish preferred. Ability to
compose correspondence and other related.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations and develop computer
spreadsheets using complex formulas.
OTHER
SKILL & ABILITIES:
Proficient in the use of personal computers/programs: Excel, Microsoft Word, MS
Office Suite, Program development, public finance and real estate analysis.
